A travel-with-teens special that focuses on getting the big kids outside and overcoming challenges together in Bournemouth, England.

“How we handle our fears will determine where we go with the rest of our lives” – Judy Blume

*A TRAVEL-WITH-TEENS SPECIAL*

Bournemouth, England

Finding things to do with teenagers can be challenging. When children reach that age where they are more withdrawn, experience mood swings and find the thought of hanging out with you suddenly extremely uncool, how do you still enjoy holidays? In my opinion, it’s the most difficult stage, the transition between childhood and adulthood and many relationships are tested. It’s vital to still create time together, even if that means fighting off resistance and struggling to think of activities that you can enjoy with teens. Teenagers are still children and need guidance and support more at this age than any age before. They need adults they can talk to, laugh with and who remind them to be children. So what type of breaks allow them to be children but present challenges for them as young adults too? Continue reading “Fears and Fun”

London, England

London is a super special place. Full of charisma and chaos, it’s one of the best cities in the world to explore as a local or a visitor. We never tire of our capital city and consider ourselves very fortunate to live under an hour from this cosmopolitan part of England. Here you can find details about this helicopter tour with VVB Aviation, why we chose it and what else there is to enjoy nearby. Continue reading “London By Air – A Helicopter Tour”

Experiencing Rio Carnival

How to enjoy a couple-friendly long weekend at Rio Carnival with Tucan Travel.

“Life is for those who know how to celebrate” – Osho

A Carnival Tour For Couples

Every year, we look at the flights and hotels in Rio around Carnival and groan at how expensive it becomes at this popular time. Next year, we say. But if you always say ‘next year’ it will never happen. So, despite not really being able to afford this one, last summer we booked flights and a tour package to Rio de Janeiro for February 2017! Sometimes, the things we look forward to the most and for the longest, can never live up to our incredibly high expectations. ‘Carnaval’ was everything we’d dreamt of … and more. We feel so blessed to be able to share with you this month a real once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Some people may not think of Rio Carnival as a couple’s destination. However, we feel it’s a fantastic travel bucket list item for couples who enjoy music, colour and fun. Here you can learn all about Rio Carnival itself, why we booked a tour with Tucan Travel and the ‘best bits’ for couples to enjoy together.

A Rural Retreat

A rural retreat that prioritises wellbeing and relaxation in Thetford Forest, England.

“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order” – John Burroughs

Thetford Forest, England

We can all benefit from a full recharge now and again and the great news is this doesn’t have to cost the earth or take you too far away from home. Everyone should have a local spot to turn to in times of need for pure relaxation and a complete vacation from everyday life. My biggest time of need for such a break often hits me in late December, when the party season has begun to take its toll on my body and bank account and I’m utterly fed up of all the running around that has sadly become normal for this time of year!
