“Get Up, Get Out There & Get Lost” – Karen Rose
The ‘Get Out There’ Part
Two years ago, we started blogging about the amazing destinations we are lucky enough to be visiting in the world. Today, to celebrate the second anniversary, we would love to continue sharing with you the motivation for our brand in the hope of inspiring others to pursue their dreams and to never give up. If you haven’t done so already, read Part 1 first.
Get Up, Get Out There & Get Lost is our mantra for life. Here we look at the meaning behind it, as well as the awesome sand lettering we created for this feature photo. This is Part 2 of 3 – The ‘Get Out There’ Part.
Get Out There – The Meaning
Modern lifestyles typically have routines weighing them down: endless errands, chores, timetables. A monotonous and painfully dull grind, in our personal opinion, that is bound to make you feel ‘uff!’ Do you get overwhelmed on a daily basis? Do you stop yourself from saying yes because you’re too busy? Are you waiting for pay day, or to be older, or to finish this course, or to start that job, or to win the lottery, or to retire?
Stop. Today is YOUR day. Your life is now. No matter how demanding that routine is or where it is taking you currently, mix it up and try something different. Venture a little out of your comfort zone and see what happens. Maybe you can find a beautifully natural spot to eat lunch, even if it is only for half an hour. Maybe you can leave your house 10 minutes earlier than need be and catch sunrise with time to stop and really take it in. Maybe you can take a drive or a walk at the end of your day to somewhere that makes you feel connected and alive. Before you make excuses, take a moment to add up all the time you spend behind a phone or in front of a TV. Don’t for a second think you don’t have time. In order to choose something different we must first be willing to ditch something that is getting in the way.
Get Out There – The Story Behind The Photo
This photo was taken on Friendly Beaches in Tasmania. We were hugging the coast of Tasmania in a campervan for a week during Autumn and this was a day that I spent completely alone with the van at my disposal. I chose to take the opportunity to explore somewhere new that we hadn’t been to before and spend the day outside. I was dealing with strong emotions of grief at the time, having lost two very important people to me at home whilst we were travelling and this day spent in nature next to the ocean and under the Autumn sun, really lifted my spirits. We made a vlog that captured the day which you can enjoy on our Youtube Channel.
Getting outside in nature definitely makes you feel more connected to your day. Natural sunlight hits your skin giving you essential vitamins, the sounds of the ocean or the wind or local wildlife makes you feel more alive and more often than not you get to feel restored and renewed. We’ve always loved being outside and embrace it every time we travel, whatever the season and whatever the weather. How could you not get out there in a stunning location such as Tasmania?
So Get Out There! And by out there, we do mean OUTSIDE. Outside is where the answers lie. We were not built for sitting still indoors. Being in nature is good for your soul.
We have created the hashtag #getupgetoutthereandgetlost to capture our collection of travel inspiring photos. We encourage you to use the hashtag with your own travel photos to help inspire us. It can be anything from getting outside in your own back garden to a mountain trek in a foreign land. Happy Hashtagging!
