“Get Up, Get Out There & Get Lost” – Karen Rose
The ‘Get Up’ Part
Exactly 1 year ago, we started blogging about the amazing destinations we are lucky enough to be visiting in the world. Today, to celebrate the first anniversary, we would love to share with you the motivation for our brand in the hope of inspiring others to pursue their dreams and to never give up.
Get Up, Get Out There & Get Lost is our mantra for life. Here we look at the meaning behind it as well as the very classy pasta lettering we created for this feature photo. This is Part 1 of 3 – The ‘Get Up’ Part.
Get Up – The Meaning
Some days are harder than others to pull yourself out of bed or out of the house. All of us can relate to this feeling. It’s OK. It’s perfectly normal. Our world has disconnected us from things that genuinely mean something. Why would we get up when the busy day ahead of us will keep us from eating when we feel hungry, or being outside in nature at all, or spending any quality time with the people we love?
When these mornings take you, and sometimes they grab you by surprise, look at what you are getting up for. What is part of your day specifically that you would prefer to avoid? Clearly, whatever it is, is not satisfying your soul. What would you love to get up for instead? And how can you make that a reality? Sometimes, change can’t happen overnight. Sometimes, it can. Whatever your personal situation and commitments, start something right now to make getting up in the morning feel worthwhile and exciting.
Get Up – The Story Behind The Photo
This photo was taken in a hired campervan at Shallow Inlet Marine and Coastal Park in Australia. We were hugging the coast between Melbourne and Sydney on our final campervan road trip of Australia, a huge trip that saw us cover 15,000km of road. One thing we had plenty of, was pasta! Pasta is a great travel food; it’s cheap, it’s easy to store and apparently it makes great lettering!
Waking up in a campervan definitely makes getting up in the mornings easier. Natural sunlight creeps in through the small curtains, the sounds of birds and other wildlife prompt you to start your day the natural way and more often than not you get to be parked somewhere wild and wonderful. We’ve never been morning people, but sleeping in a camper changed all that. How could you not get up to watch sunrise when you are somewhere as beautiful as Jervis Bay in NSW?
If you struggle to get up, why not try waking up somewhere different? Because no matter how hard it is sometimes to overcome a challenge in our lives, if you don’t get up, you will miss this beautiful blessing that is today. And, without doubt, you will never get this day back. So Get Up! Just get up for something you love and we assure you, it won’t feel quite so hard.
We have created the hashtag #getupgetoutthereandgetlost to capture our collection of travel inspiring photos. We encourage you to use the hashtag with your own travel photos to help inspire us. It can be anything from getting outside in your own back garden to a mountain trek in a foreign land. Happy Hashtagging!
